Since July 2007 Michael Fiedler-Panajotopoulos leads the European biodiesel sales and the corresponding trading activities of Europe’s most CO2-neutral fuels producer, Petrotec Biodiesel.

He has 15 years experience in the energy sector, mainly successful sales activity in operational as well as strategic roles in the European oil business (retail & wholesale). Before his current activity, he worked at the world’s biggest energy trader in London (BP Oil Int’l) and set up the sales structure of a bio-ethanol start-up in Germany. After an initial assignment at bp’s European HQ in Brussels, he has lead for the company a retail network in Germany, was responsible for the marketing of heating oil in France, acted as strategy manager for the Eastern Mediterranean and was country manager retail in Cyprus. In the Mobil-bp JV, he devised with BoozAllenHamilton a BusinessProcessRe-engineering project in Spain, Portugal and other parts of Europe.

After a Greek-German education at the German School of Athens, he studied Business Administration at the University of Bayreuth (Bavaria) followed by an MBA at the European School of Management (ESCP-EAP) in Paris-Oxford-Berlin. He is also a holder of the German degree Diplom-Kaufmann and the French Diplôme de Grande Ecole de Commerce; he speaks 5 languages.
