Richard Meyer
Richard Meyer is a 41 year old German living in Hamburg. He holds a diploma in geophysics and a PhD in physics from Munich University. In his thesis he studied the climatic impact of aircraft contrails by use of satellite data.
At DLR (German Aerospace Center) he set up a satellite-based service for analyzing potentials for solar energy. From 2000 to 2004 he contributed to the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP) 'Solar and Wind Energy Resources Assessment'.
In 2005 he was a visiting scientist to NASA's project 'Prediction of Worldwide Energy Resources'. Since 2004 Dr. Meyer is representing the Task 'Solar Resource Knowledge Management' to the Executive Committee for Solar Power and Chemical Energy Systems (SolarPACES) of the International Energy Agency (IEA).
In 2006 he joined the renewable energy industry leading a team for technical analysis of solar energy with focus on concentrating solar power. Currently, he is working at EPURON GmbH to develop large solar energy projects around the world.
