Catharina Saponar
Ms Saponar is head of of energy, utilities and ecology equity research with Nomura. In this capacity she advises investors and is involved in corporate finance related work. She is also the Chairman of the UK Society of Investment Professionals Energy Special Interest Group. In this function, she represents the Society as liaison for matters of interest to investors regarding energy, including investment debate of current issues and energy related events. Her banking career is focused on the wider energy sector. Previously, Ms Saponar has held senior positions within energy & utilities equity research & sales and economic advisory with The Bank of Montreal, ABN Amro, Ofgem and Cazenove. She has advised on most major privatisations and a number of other large transactions in the utilities sector in Europe and has been highly ranked in large international investor surveys. She holds and MBA from ESSEC, France and MSc Finance from the University of Mannheim, Germany.
