As a Belgian national, he has studied law at the Free University of Brussels and obtained a Master in International and European Law (LL.M.), at the Institute for European Studies (IES), based in Brussels as well.

After his studies, he has accumulated several years of experience as Secretary General of 3 Belgian and 2 European trade federations - active in the Transport and Machinery Distribution Sector -, and has served for over a year as the representative of Road Federation Belgium in the Executive Committee of the European Union Road Federation (ERF).

Before taking up a management position at the ERF, he has worked 6 months for the Spanish law firm JAUSAS Abogados in Barcelona (in the European Law Department), under the EU Exchange Programme Eurodyssee for Young Professionals.

Furthermore, he was active in the fields of Membership Development, organisation of Working Groups and Conferences, and the elaboration of Position Papers, Press Releases and other working documents.

As a true 'Public Affairs aficionado', he is a member of several formal and informal networks of Public Affairs practitioners, and has been closely involved in a number of successful lobby campaigns, both on Belgian and European level.
