Greg Arrowsmith

Greg Arrowsmith has worked at EUREC Agency, an association representing renewable energy research centres based in Europe, for six years where has gained a thorough understanding of European energy and research policy and of the inter-relation between the two.

He led a vigorous campaign on the European Commission's most significant research funding instrument - the "Seventh Framework Programme" ("FP7") - when it was debated in the European Parliament and Council two years ago and is currently engaged in promoting the views of his members on the Strategic Energy Technology Plan - the latest initiative of the Commission in energy technology policy. He provides advice on R&D policy to three Technology Platforms, most particularly the European Photovoltaic Technology Platform, and expects to be busy in the coming months with defining how 'European Industrial Initiatives' (an idea from the Strategic Energy Technology Plan) could be set up in different renewable energy sectors.
