Vanessa Kummer

Vanessa, her husband, Paul, and son, Blaine raise soybeans, corn, wheat and sugar beets on their family farm near Colfax, N.D. Their daughter, Rachael, is a teacher in Colorado. This is her sixth year as a USB director. Vanessa currently serves as the Communications Committee chair and is a member of the Biotechnology Initiative Leadership Team. Vanessa’s previous leadership experience includes chair of the International Marketing Growth Market Subcommittee and team lead for the Select Yield & Quality Initiative Leadership Team. She has also been a member of the International Marketing Committee, Select Yield & Quality Initiative Leadership Team, Competitiveness Committee, Production Committee, Audit & Evaluation Committee and Soy 2020 Advisory Group. She has served in the past, as President of the North Dakota Soybean Growers Association. She holds a business management degree from North Dakota State College of Science.
