Rupert Baumgartner

Rupert J. Baumgartner is responsible for the area of research “Sustainable Business Management” at the department of economics and business management, University of Leoben/Austria, which was established by him, too. He received a master in environmental technology and a PhD in business management both at the University of Leoben.

His research interests are strategic management and corporate sustainability with the focus on sustainability strategies, CSR, organizational culture and sustainability, sustainability assessment and corporate environmental management systems. He coordinated research projects with transport, aviation, automotive, steel and chipboard industry concerning environmental management, sustainability assessment and productivity enhancement. Rupert J. Baumgartner is responsible for the module “Sustainable Business Management” within the MBA programme Generic Management at Leoben university. He is member of the International Society for Ecological Economics (ISEE), International Association for Management of Technology (IAMOT) and board member of the International Sustainable Development Research Society (ISDRS).
