A native Turinese, after college education he became an entrepreneur in freight forwarding, a field where I was active for over thirty years.
In the early 80’s he became involved in trade associations: Apsaci (Turin), Fedespedi (Milan) and Confetra (Rome) in Italy and Fiata at international level. In the meantime he also became member of the Board of the Turin Chamber of Commerce.
Trade facilitation has always been high on his professional agenda. He has been a teacher in logistics, international trade and transport regulations. In more than one occasion he has published articles and contributed to technical transport and trade publications. He published his own book in 2002, a manual for transport and logistics practitioners.
In 2003, he moved to Brussels, where he became the director general of Clecat, the European Freight Forwarders and Customs Agents international association.
CLECAT (www.clecat.org) was established in 1958 in Brussels, where it represents today 28 national organisations of European multinational, medium and small freight forwarders and Customs agents, thus representing the largest and oldest institution of its kind. Freight forwarders and logistic service providers master the entire supply and value chain on behalf of their clients.
